A diamond's beauty and value come down to four characteristics — Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat. Understanding the 4Cs helps you choose a stone that's brilliant, meaningful, and right for your budget.
Cut is the most important C — it governs how a diamond returns light. A well-cut diamond sparkles brilliantly even at a lower color or clarity grade, while a poor cut can make an otherwise excellent stone look dull. We prioritise Excellent and Ideal cuts.
Diamond color is graded D (colorless) through Z (light yellow). The differences between neighbouring grades are subtle; for most settings a G–I stone looks bright white to the eye at a meaningful saving over D–F.
Clarity describes the tiny inclusions and blemishes formed in nature. Grades run from Flawless (FL) to Included (I). Many VS and SI stones are "eye-clean" — inclusions are invisible without magnification — offering excellent value.
Carat is a measure of weight, not size. Because larger diamonds are rarer, price rises steeply at popular weights (like 1.00 ct). Choosing just below a benchmark (e.g. 0.90 ct) can look nearly identical for noticeably less.
